With the announcement of the “gameplan” features, many fans decried that Madden was moving away from it’s “hardcore” audience and more towards a casual audience, with simplified play schemes and playcalling. At the same time, with the addition of dual-stick controls, it seems like they’re catering to a more simulation audience by allowing players to have more control over the ball carrier while also removing the ridiculous — but reliable — speed burst / sprint button. So, what are your thoughts — Is Madden becoming too arcadey? Is it becoming too casual? Or is this a more accurate simulation of the game, one that benefits the hardcore Madden sim player?
